“What?” I nearly shouted. They can?t do this to me. Did they not remember how I suffered, I thought in disbelief. Dad looked at me in the rear-view mirror and said,
?Now sweetie, we can change the school if you want, but what are the chances of anyone remembering you, because it was five years ago and you were only there for a couple of weeks? he said as he turned into a roundabout.

I glared at nothing in particular. So now they were giving me choices? I sighed before saying to my parents, ?No it?s fine, I?ll go back but only because I have some dignity? I grumbled and crossed my arms over my chest. My dad suppressed a smile as he drove on and I slouched further in my seat.

This car ride was going to be long and boring and then I remembered something. I was meeting all those bitches and jerks again. Well at least I had a lot of confidence and I was good-looking now.

I wondered what Lily the school bitch looked like now, and if she had a gang following her every move. Or if there were jocks and popular people like in my old school. My cell phone buzzed and the screen indicated Scott was calling me. I groaned and switched it off, as well as falling asleep.

“Mariah! We?re here!” My mother?s sing song voice told me and I awoke with a minor headache. Great. The moving trucks were already here and my Dad opened the door to our house to let them in.

Lifting my head, I gazed at the house. It wasn?t like the house we had in Ohio all those years ago. This house was much bigger. It was bigger than the one at California too.

I still had that headache, so once all the furniture was inside and the trucks were gone, I called to my mum that I was going to sleep as I was tired from the car ride and the fact that the day after tomorrow, would be Monday which meant school. Oh the joy.

My alarm clock beeped an alarm at me in the morning and I turned it off. It was 6:00, time for my jog. I walked to the window and it was sunny, the fish in the pond swam elegantly and the water was crystal blue like an ocean. The flowers looked exotic and once I opened my window, the smell of grass and hay wafted through. I had to admit it was beautiful here and it was stupid of me to forget the beauty of Ohio.

I brushed my teeth and pulled on my jogging shorts and white tank top and dashed out the door. I jogged down the path and kept going. It felt good to loosen my muscles as they were stiff. I took long strides and when I got back home it was 8:00 and my Dad had gone to work. My mum was in the kitchen and se gave me a plate of pancakes.

?You know you really shouldn?t run so much, you could hurt yourself?, she said, serious.
?Mom, I?m not going to hurt myself, I?ve been doing this for five years now?, but she frowned. I sighed and said,
?Would you feel better if you gave me a punishment for worrying you?? I asked dreading her answer. She smiled and nodded. I groaned and raised my eyebrows.

?You can spend the rest of your day unpacking and getting your clothes ready for tomorrow!? She said cheerfully and I glared at her as I made my way upstairs. I didn?t think she?d actually give me a punishment.

I got to work unpacking and as I finally finished I lay heavily in my bed. I didn?t know I had so many clothes and stuff. I noted that my room was big with a huge window and window seat. It was blue, silver and black and mirror cupboards.

I liked it, I thought, as I drifted to sleep.

A vague ringing noise was buzzing in my ears and I slapped my hand down on the clock and trudged to my bathroom. My hair was a complete mess but worked with me as I straightened it, and I put on some denim shorts with a red tank top and black cardigan, and I pulled on my black suede boots. I lined my eyes with eyeliner and mascara and grabbed my keys and rode on my motorbike to school.

I pulled into a parking lot and strode to the double doors. Why was I nervous? It was me, Mariah Blackbird, the confident smart-mouth who was hesitating at the doors of a previous high school? No way. I pushed the doors opened and everything stopped. The conversations stopped, the lockers were stopped midway, and the people stopped what they were doing. Hell, it was like time stopped.

I shifted to another foot and made my way to my locker but not before I heard someone shout, ?She?s back?!?

Blaze

As I was walking down the hallway, Drew stopped me and said, “Hey do you remember that dude or girl?, he snickered, ?that tried to join the guys? soccer team all those years ago? It took me a while to remember her?, he laughed.

I scrunched my forehead trying to think of this girl and then it hit me. It was that nerd from 5 years ago. I burst out laughing, remembering the soccer team scene. Lily, my girl, came up to me and said,

?Hey babe, what?s so funny?? she said but I noticed her looking at Drew who was talking to Nathan.
?That girl-guy, from 5 years ago, it?s so funny remembering her?, I snickered. Lily laughed and flicked her blonde hair.

?That tomboy? Ha! I wonder if she still wears my grandma?s clothes!? She tutted. Lily was wearing a mini skirt and a pink tank top revealing her orange tan. I didn?t like it when she looked artificial.

?Yeah her. She?s coming back here to finish off her last year?, Drew said in a disgusted voice. My eyes grew wide and I shouted, ?She?s back?!? before laughing uncontrollably.

?We?ll have to teach her a lesson again won?t we blaze?? Drew asked joining my laughter.

Mariah

I heard some conversation as I walked around a corner and it was two guys and a girl. I realised it was Lily and Blaze. They seemed to be going out. Predictable. The other was Drew, I didn?t know who that was.

Then this Drew guy said, ?We?ll have to teach her a lesson again, won?t we Blaze?? he said laughing.
Before Blaze could answer, I walked up to them and said in a fake, sweet voice,

?Well I?m looking forwards to that?. All three turned around and their expressions were priceless. I was a big surprise alright. And they were in for a bigger surprise.

Tell me what you guys think! :)
